    If only everybody kept in mind how fast nature can erase humanity’s unmotivated, self-indulgent, dangerous pride, probably people would learn to respect this planet more. But not even facts like this can teach humbleness to the deaf and blind.

      I have to agree – I feel a bit like we’re telling ourselves that “everything will be fine as long as long as we keep the risky stuff at the far end of the egg basket.”
