    The Bond movies do seem to borrow heavily from North By Northwest – Suave witty hero, big action set pieces, sweeping chase across many locations.

    You get some of those elements from the Fleming novels- but North By Northwest really feels like a Bond template. 🙂

      You’ve got a great point there – the on location shots, the comic/thriller tone, the brazenness of Eva Marie Saint – so true.
